merde!!!!!!!

surpriseworriedhypnotized

This is the true story of a man who had a parasitic fish swim up his penis and lodge itself in it...blardy hell!!!

this absolutely rocks!!!

Hell explained

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. Make sure you read it all.....

The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well:

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:-
  1. First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave.
  2. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.
  3. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.
This gives two possibilities:-
  1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
  2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct... leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A". applause

Fish jumps out of water, hits man off jet ski

A man riding a personal watercraft on the Suwannee River was injured after a 4-foot-long sturgeon jumped out of the water and hit him, wildlife officials said.

Blake Nicholas Fessenden, 23, was heading north on the Suwannee River Sunday just north of the Hart Springs Sand Bar when he was hit and fell off the craft, according to a statement from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Fessenden was knocked unconscious. His girlfriend was riding another watercraft behind him and was able to get to Fessenden and hold his head above water before passengers on another vessel arrived to pull him from the water, officials said.

He was airlifted to Shands Hospital in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said. A 31-year-old woman was hospitalized in April after a 3-foot-long sturgeon jumped into a boat being driven by the woman's fiance. The pair was also on the Suwannee River.

Officials at the time said similar accidents occur once or twice a year on the river and that the fish can jump as high as 8 feet in the air and can weigh up to 200 pounds.

Dude ignites fireworks on his football helmet?

A 21-year-old dude suffered severe burns to his face and head when he ignited a mortar-style firework that he taped to an old football helmet and placed on his head.

Police say Kaleb Spangler of Bloomington attempted the stunt while drinking at a party along Indiana 46 between Bloomington and Nashville early Saturday morning.

His girlfriend says Spangler decided to duct tape the large firework to the old football helmet. He then put on the helmet and ignited it.

She told police she saw a large flash, then saw Spangler on the ground, unconscious and bleeding from the head. The helmet was destroyed by the blast.

Spangler was taken to Bloomington Hospital, where he was treated for severe burns, lacerations and a concussion.

spoke too soon...

...this just came in by email and i feel compelled to share it with everyone...it's a touching story and cuts straight to the heart...

A Stranger

I sat, with two friends, in the picture window of a quaint restaurant just off the corner of the town-square. The food and the company were both especially good that day.

As we talked, my attention was drawn outside, across the street.

There, walking into town, was a man who appeared to be carrying all his worldly goods on his back. He was carrying, a well-worn sign that read, "I will work for food." My heart sank.

I brought him to the attention of my friends and noticed that others around us had stopped eating to focus on him. Heads moved in a mixture of sadness and disbelief.

We continued with our meal, but his image lingered in my mind. We finished our meal and went our separate ways. I had errands to do and quickly set out to accomplish them. I glanced toward the town square, looking somewhat halfheartedly for the strange visitor. I was fearful, knowing that seeing him again would call some response. I drove through town and saw nothing of him. I made some purchases at a store and got back in my car.

Deep within me, the Spirit of God kept speaking to me: "Don't go back to the office until you've at least driven once more around the square."

Then with some hesitancy, I headed back into town. As I turned the square's third corner, I saw him. He was standing on the steps of the store front church, going through his sack.

I stopped and looked feeling both compelled to speak to him, yet wanting to drive on. The empty parking space on the corner seemed to be a sign from God: an invitation to park. I pulled in, got out and approached the town's newest visitor.

"Looking for the pastor?" I asked.
"Not really," he replied, "just resting."
"Have you eaten today?"
"Oh, I ate something early this morning."
"Would you like to have lunch with me?"
"Do you have some work I could do for you?"
"No work," I replied. "I commute here to work from the city, but I would like to take you to lunch."
"Sure," he replied with a smile.

As he began to gather his things, I asked some surface questions. "Where you headed?"

"St. Louis."
"Where you from?"
"Oh, all over; mostly Florida."
"How long you been walking?"
"Fourteen years," came the reply.

I knew I had met someone unusual. We sat across from each other in the same restaurant I had left earlier. His face was weathered slightly beyond his 38 years. His eyes were dark yet clear, and he spoke with an eloquence and articulation that was startling. He removed his jacket to reveal a bright red T-shirt that said, "Jesus is The Never Ending Story."

Then Daniel's story began to unfold. He had seen rough times early in life. He'd made some wrong choices and reaped the consequences. Fourteen years earlier, while backpacking across the country, he had stopped on the beach in Daytona. He tried to hire on with some men who were putting up a large tent and some equipment. A concert, he thought.

He was hired, but the tent would not house a concert but revival services, and in those services he saw life more clearly. He gave his life over to God

"Nothing's been the same since," he said, "I felt the Lord telling me to keep walking, and so I did, some 14 years now."

"Ever think of stopping?" I asked.

"Oh, once in a while, when it seems to get the best of me But God has given me this calling. I give out Bibles, That's what's in my sack. I work to buy food and Bibles, and I give them out when His Spirit leads."

I sat amazed. My homeless friend was not homeless. He was on a mission and lived this way by choice. The question burned inside for a moment and then I asked: "What's it like?"

"What?"
"To walk into a town carrying all your things on your back and to show your sign?"

"Oh, it was humiliating at first. People would stare and make comments. Once someone tossed a piece of half-eaten bread and made a gesture that certainly didn't make me feel welcome. But then it became humbling to realize that God was using me to touch lives and change people's concepts of other folks like me."

My concept was changing, too. We finished our dessert and gathered his things. Just outside the door, he paused. He turned to me and said, "Come Ye blessed of my Father and inherit the kingdom I've prepared for you. For when I was hungry you gave me food, when I was thirsty you gave me drink, a stranger and you took me in."

I felt as if we were on holy ground. "Could you use another Bible?" I asked.

He said he preferred a certain translation. It traveled well and was not too heavy. It was also his personal favorite. "I've read through it 14 times," he said.

"I'm not sure we've got one of those, but let's stop by our church and see". I was able to find my new friend a Bible that would do well, and he seemed very grateful.

"Where are you headed from here?" I asked.
"Well, I found this little map on the back of this amusement park coupon."
"Are you hoping to hire on there for awhile?"
"No, I just figure I should go there. I figure someone under that star right there needs a Bible, so that's where I'm going next."

He smiled, and the warmth of his spirit radiated the sincerity of his mission. I drove him back to the town-square where we'd met two hours earlier, and as we drove, it started raining. We parked and unloaded his things.

"Would you sign my autograph book?" he asked. "I like to keep messages from folks I meet."

I wrote in his little book that his commitment to his calling had touched my life. I encouraged him to stay strong. And I left him with a verse of scripture from Jeremiah, "I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a future and a hope."

"Thanks, man," he said. "I know we just met and we're really just strangers, but I love you."
"I know," I said, "I love you, too"
"The Lord is good!"
"Yes, He is. How long has it been since someone hugged you?" I asked.
"A long time," he replied

And so on the busy street corner in the drizzling rain, my new friend and I embraced, and I felt deep inside that I had been changed. He put his things on his back, smiled his winning smile and said, "See you in the New Jerusalem."

"I'll be there!" was my reply.

He began his journey again. He headed away with his sign dangling from his bedroll and pack of Bibles. He stopped, turned and said, "When you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?"

"You bet," I shouted back, "God bless."
"God bless." And that was the last I saw of him.

Late that evening as I left my office, the wind blew strong. The cold front had settled hard upon the town. I bundled up and hurried to my car. As I sat back and reached for the emergency brake, I saw them... a pair of well-worn brown work gloves neatly laid over the length of the handle. I picked them up and thought of my friend andwondered if his hands would stay warm that night without them.

Then I remembered his words: "If you see something that makes you think of me, will you pray for me?"

Today his gloves lie on my desk in my office. They help me to see the world and its people in a new way, and they help me remember those two hours with my unique friend and to pray for his ministry. "See you in the New Jerusalem," he said. Yes, Daniel, I know I will...

contentment

recently, with a bit of time on my hands for some solitude, i have been doing quite a bit of thinking...am i content with life? with the status quo, so to speak...is this what i am happy doing with my life?

shall i push further, grab life more by the scruff of the neck and go all out...in all parts of my life? am i "envious" of others leading a more well-rounded life?

turning to the bible came not so naturally but early this morning, googled up a few phrases from the bible which i intend to take seriously...and also a very interesting sermon given by a preacher in 1860 (see HERE)...

in it, he says

"...contentment in all states is not a natural propensity of man. Ill weeds grow apace; covetousness, discontent, and murmuring, are as natural to man as thorns are to the soil"

and

"...contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. It will not grow in us by nature; it is the new nature alone that can produce it, and even then we must be specially careful and watchful that we maintain and cultivate the grace which God has sown in it"

*thinking hard* *brain strain*

"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones."
Proverbs 17:22

All the days of the afflicted are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast."
Proverbs 15:15

"Godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment."
1 Timothy 6:6

"If they hear and serve Him, they will end their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures."
Job 36:11

"Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; do not fret; it leads only to evildoing."
Psalm 37:7-8

"O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days."
Psalm 90:14

"For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good."
Psalm 107:9

"The fear of the LORD leads to life, so that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil."
Proverbs 19:23

"Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked."
Proverbs 24:19

"Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourself in abundance."
Isaiah 55:2

"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need."
Philippians 4:11-12

"If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content."
1 Timothy 6:8

"Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, 'I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.'"
Hebrews 13:5

"As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake."
Psalms 17:15

"The afflicted will eat and be satisfied; those who seek Him will praise the LORD. Let your heart live forever!"
Psalm 22:26

"With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation."
Psalms 91:16

"Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle."
Psalms 103:5

"The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent is made fat."
Proverbs 13:4

"He will not accept any ransom, nor will he be satisfied though you give many gifts."
Proverbs 6:35

"Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, 'And what about us, what shall we do?' And he said to them, 'Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages.'"
Luke 3:14

"Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong."

unrecognised classic U2

managed to get me a bootleg of the classic RATTLE AND HUM album (1988) in siemreap (my old album kaputted from playing too much) and subsequently have rediscovered this song.......LOVE RESCUE ME......beautiful lyrics, simple melody but oh so powerful in its execution...bono syncs beautifully with bob dylan...i love it!

the song is a bit slower than i'd like, but its lyrics are unbelievable...speaking of despair and of coming to a crossroads in life...but in the end - as evidenced by the final verse - it's a song of redemption...

uplifting and inspiring! =))

Love rescue me
Come forth and speak to me
Raise me up and don't let me fall
No man is my enemy
My own hands imprison me
Love rescue me

Many strangers have I met
On the road to my regret
Many lost who seek to find themselves in me
They ask me to reveal
The very thoughts they would conceal
Love rescue me

And the sun in the sky
Makes a shadow of you and i
Stretching out as the sun sinks in the sea
I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
Said, love rescue me

In the cold mirror of a glass
I see my reflection pass
See the dark shades of what I used to be
See the purple of her eyes
The scarlet of my lies
Love rescue me

Yea, though I walk
In the valley of shadow
Yea, I will fear no evil
I have cursed thy rod and staff
They no longer comfort me
Love rescue me

Sha la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...ha la la...
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la la...sha la la
Sha la la la...sha la la la
Sha la la...
I said love, love rescue me

I said love
Climb up the mountains, said love
I said love, oh my love
On the hill of the son
Im on the eve of a storm
And my word you must believe in
Oh, I said love, rescue me
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah...

Yeah I'm here without a name
In the palace of my shame
I said love rescue me

I've conquered my past
The future is here at last
I stand at the entrance
To a new world I can see
The ruins to the right of me
Will soon have lost sight of me
Love rescue me

angkor what???

am back!!!! after 5 days in siemreap no less!

what can i say about siemreap? i'd liken it to perhaps a 1950s version of bangkok...still underdeveloped in many ways but changing fast to accomodate the tourist dollar...a paradoxical juxtaposition of the old (the very old too) and the new...

i like it though...small enough to walk everywhere in town and yet big enough to accomodate the hordes of tourists arriving to see the angkor complex...still charming yet cynical in many respects...

i suppose it's the way the material world imposes itself this little town whose only claim to fame and its fortune in many respects, is its proximity to the wonders of angkor...

what can one say about it? i have lost track of the superlatives that i have used in the past 5 days...

awesome...
inspiring...
stunning...
magnificent...
incredible...
amazing...
stupendous...
spectacular...
mind-boggling...
spine-tingling...

the list goes on and on...you just have to be there to see it to appreciate the wonders of these ancient sites...

the 1st sight of angkor wat with its magnificent spires just set me off gawking like a country bumpkin arriving in a big city...the 1st sight of the bayon in angkor thom, with its numerous enigmatic faces, gave me goosies up and down my spine for minutes on end...it's all so hard to take it that i ended up going there for 3 full days to get my fill...

and it's not just these 2...there are just so many other beautiful temples...banteay srey, banteay samre, kanteay kdei, ta prohm, pre rup, preah kanh, eastern mebon...ooooh man...

a real feast for the senses...phew!

pix are being worked on now...to come later...

the playground stunt saga continues

following on from my previous posting on the playground stunt, below report came out yesterday/today in BBC news...which begs the question - why would the fuzz take the time and resources to track them down if not to arrest/charge/warn them? for fun ah??????d'oh

Park prank culprits tracked down

Four children involved in a website video prank in which two girls are thrown from a roundabout powered by a moped have been identified by police.

Officers were alerted to the incident in Crawley, West Sussex, after seeing the footage on a US-based website.

Insp Mark Piper said the two boys and two girls, all aged between 15 and 17, would voluntarily go to Crawley police station on Saturday.

They will be spoken to by officers about the severity of their actions.

Mr Piper added that the group would not be arrested, charged or formally cautioned for the incident.

"It is better to deal with them by way of advice for a prank that went wrong," he said.

"The owner of the motorbike will receive a section 59 anti-social behaviour warning which means if he uses the vehicle in an anti-social way again it will be seized."

The group all live in the Tilgate area of Crawley where the playground is.

Deckchair trapped testicles

A Croatian man got a nasty surprise when he tried to get out of his deck chair and found his testicles had got stuck.

Mario Visnjic had gone swimming naked in the sea at the Valalta beach in western Croatia.

His testicles had shrunk while in the cool sea and slipped through the wooden slats when he sat back down on his wooden deckchair.

But as he lay in the sun they expanded back to normal size and got stuck between the slats.

He was eventually freed after he called beach maintenance services on his mobile phone and they sent a member of staff to cut the deck chair in half.
