Miss Black America contest
There will only be 49 contestants in the Miss Black America contest this year. No one wants to wear the sash that says, “IDAHO”.

Ashes
A woman recently lost her husband. She had him cremated and brought his ashes home. One day she picked up the urn he was in, and poured him out on the coffee table.
Then she started talking to him, and tracing her fingers in the ashes. She said, "You know that fur coat you promised me, Irving?" She answered by saying, "I bought it with the insurance money!"
She then said, "Irving, remember that new car you promised me?" She answered again saying, "Well, I bought it with the insurance money!"
Then she said, "And remember the big beautiful house that sits at the top of the hill that I fell in love with and you said we couldn't afford?"
Once more she answered saying, "Well I bought that too with the insurance money and I love living here."
Still tracing her finger in the ashes, she said, "Irving, remember that blow job I promised you? Here it comes . . ."
clever, this...
Top scientists were invited to a party, and this is how they replied (warning! only avid science students will understand every reference):
* Ampere was worried he wasn't current.
* Audobon said he'd have to wing it.
* Darwin waited to see what evolved.
* Descartes said he'd think about it.
* Dr Jekyll declined -- he hadn't been feeling himself lately.
* Edison thought it would be illuminating.
* Einstein thought it would be relatively easy to attend.
* Gauss was asked to attend because of his magnetic personality.
* Hertz said in the future he planned to attend with greater frequency.
* Morse's reply: "I'll be there on the dot. Can't stop now, must dash."
* Newton planned to drop in.
* Ohm resisted the idea.
* Pierre and Marie Curie were radiating enthusiasm.
* Stephenson thought the whole idea was loco.
* Volta was electrified, and Archimedes buoyant at the thought.
* Watt reckoned it would be a good way to let off steam.
* Wilbur Wright accepted, provided he and Orville could get a flight.

really fantastic for small homes without much space...designed by Frank Ligthart for Decon, it's actually outdoor furniture (but of course usable indoors)...and it tops 7 feet in height when put together...
unfortunately for moi, at a price of US$9890, it's wayyy out of reach both literally and figuratively

the 1st bimmer m3 V8....

...no, it isn't the E90 M3...it was actually the E46 M3 GTR...this was a series of 10 built just for homologation purposes to enable the GTR to be used to compete in its class at Le Mans...and at the cost of EUR250,000....no wonder...apparently there are only 2 left...1 somewhere in the middle east in some rich fella's collection and the other in the official BMW museum...
taken from Wiki
As a special and rarely designed car, the BMW M3 GTR V8 special, has extreme acceleration and as well as almost unlimited top speed making it the fastest car in the game at over 200 mph.
An E46 GTR came to life on February 2001, powered by a 4000 cm³ V8 producing over 450 bhp also having the 4x4 steering. Unlike the straight-six powered M3 versions, which were outpaced by the Porsche 996 GT3, the racing version of the E46 M3 GTR V8 was very successful in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), entered by Schnitzer Motorsport.
Rivals such as Porsche pointed out that this car was more of a prototype as no V8 engine was available in the roadgoing BMW E46, which is violation of the spirit of Gran Turismo. In 2001, ALMS regulations stated that cars must be for sale on two continents within twelve months of the rules being issued. To fullfill this rule, BMW put 10 GTRs on sale after the 2001 season, for over 250,000 euros (then $218,000) each, allegedly only available for select customers.
Due to this, the ALMS rules were altered for 2002 to state that 100 cars and 1000 engines must be built for the car to qualify without penalties. Although BMW could have raced the V8 with the new weight and power penalties under these new regulations, they chose to pull out of the ALMS, effectively ending the shortlived M3 GTR's career.

Crane crash at Harland & Wolff in Belfast
This video shows the nail-biting moment when a 100-ft high crane crashed to the ground in a Belfast shipyard.
Workers at Harland & Wolff in Belfast looked on in horror as the crane fell, in a potentially lethal accident.
No-one was injured. But one person recorded the moment when the 300-ft high Sampson crane moves down the building dock, as sirens blare.
Video contains NSFW language.
The giant crane, which can lift up to 800 tonnes, appears to bang into the small crane, smashing it to the ground.
A spokesman for Harland & Wolff confirmed that they believed the film was genuine. "It relates to an incident which occurred at the shipyard on Wednesday 4 April," he said.

Blundering rookie plumber burns down £5m mansion
The first day of a new job can be a nerve racking experience prone to professional mishaps. And even the most experienced worker might expect to feel the heat.
So spare a thought for the rookie plumber who attempted a soldering job at this £5 million waterside home - and saw his efforts go up in smoke.

Fire crews are still looking into the exact cause of the fire which ripped through the Georgian mansion. But it is thought it was started after polystyrene insulation caught fire from the flame of a blow torch.
Workers at the site were yesterday determined to keep the identity of their plumber colleague a secret.

But residents suggested the fire was accidentally sparked by a 17-year-old apprentice.
Investigators said the plumber, who is understood to have been working his first day, was very upset by the damage - a sentiment shared by the millionaire owner who planned to convert the building into a luxury hotel.
Eight-bedroom Kittery Court, in Kingswear, Devon, is owned by Andrew Brownsword - famous for his 'Forever Friends' range of greeting cards.

stabproof hoodies
what is the world coming to when these sorts of things are needed for our kids??? sheeeeshh...

Stab-proof hoodies with the same body armour used by troops in Iraq are being sold to teenagers in fear of soaring knife crime. And plans are under way to extend the idea to school uniforms.
The £65 black cotton tops are lined with Kevlar, a synthetic fibre that can be spun into knife-resistant fabric sheets five times stronger than steel.
The hoodie armour is the brainchild of businessmen Adrian Davis and Barry Samms, who make protective clothes for police and security guards. The pair — who run the BladeRunner firm in Romford, Essex — believe there is a gap in the market.

ah ha! the truth is OUT!
vindication for us men! finally....
Women ogle more than men
Women are worse oglers than men, a study suggests. Scientists used eye-tracking technology to pinpoint what people looked at when shown a series of sexy photos. They expected women to be more interested in faces, and men in genitals.
But to their surprise, they found almost the reverse was true. Men were more likely than women to linger on the face before diverting their attention to other parts of the body. Women also spent longer poring over images of couples performing sexual acts.
The findings, reported in the journal Hormones And Behaviour, support previous research suggesting that men and women have different patterns of brain activity when viewing sexually stimulating images.

fear and loathing in las vegas becomes water and fire in your toiletFree repairs offered after toilets catch fire
Japan's leading toilet manufacturer Toto is offering free repairs to 180,000 toilets after some of them caught fire.
There have been three incidents of the electric bidet accessory in Toto's Z series catching fire. "Fortunately nobody was using the toilets when the fire broke out and there were no injuries," a company spokesman said.
"The fire would have been just under your buttocks", she added.
Toto is a pioneer of high-tech toilets with built-in bidets, which are popular in Japan. The Z series features a pulsating massage spray, a power dryer, a "tornado wash" flush, and a lid that opens and closes automatically. It is not sold outside Japan.
