dunno what will become of the world....do all the natural disasters occurring signal the imminent end of the world? first last december's tsunamis and now the kashmiri earthquake...what next?
it's terrible what's happened in the kashimiri region of pakistan (and in a small part india)...the devastation as seen in the news and the papers is mind-boggling to say the least...whole towns and villages just wiped out from existence like chalkmarks being rubbed out...
with the confirmed death toll in pakistan reaching 30,000 and some (and set to increase), and in india at least 865...it's a monumental catastrophe to happen to what is already a relatively poor country....the costs in terms of the dead (apparently a spokesperson for the pres of pakistan said that a whole generation may be lost in the affected area...sheesh) and public/private property destroyed may beggar the south asian nation...
may God have mercy on the lost souls and their families...and for those who remain, grant them succour and strength to carry on...
*sigh*
