the peals of laughter at the peel...

Goodness me...how ahead of the times was this little tyke of a car? surprise It's even smaller than the current city-car champion, the MCC Smart!

The Peel P50 was a three-wheeled microcar manufactured in 1962 by the Manx Peel Engineering Company, retailing for £150 when new, and was designed as a town car and advertised as capable of seating "one adult and a shopping bag".

The car currently holds the record for the smallest-ever automobile to go into mass production, at just 134 cm (53 in) long and 99 cm (39 in) wide, with a weight of only 59 kg (132 lb). Having a tiny little 49 CC engine, it topped out at about 61 kmh and had a 3-speed manual tranny WITHOUT a reverse gear...

In tight confined spaces (relatively-speaking for it, I mean), turning could only be achieved by pushing, or lifting the car using the handle on the rear and physically pulling it round. Well, it was light enough...

In spite of its diminutive size, it was actually street-legal...but if you got into anything more than a fender-bender, you'd probably be squished flat...

in the vid below, TOP GEAR checks out the Peel...

...the captain of the flight...man, to see your co-worker pass on like that and have to carry on as the lives of the passengers were in his hands...that sucks big time...

sad news...
sad

A holiday flight from Manchester to Cyprus was forced to divert after the co-pilot collapsed and died during the flight.

The GB Airways Airbus A320, flight BA6826, with 156 passengers on board, was bound for Paphos but diverted to Istanbul on Sunday afternoon. The first officer became ill during the flight. The purser administered first aid while the captain diverted the aircraft to Istanbul.

After landing the first officer was pronounced dead by the Turkish authorities.

The Irishman and the priest

A married Irishman went into the confessional and said to his priest, 'I almost had an affair with another woman.' The priest said, 'What do you mean, almost?'

The Irishman said, 'Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped.'

The priest said, 'Rubbing together is the same as putting it in. You're not to see that woman again For your penance, say five Hail Mary's and put $50 in the poor box.'

The Irishman left the confessional, said his prayers, and then walked over to the poor box. He paused for a moment and then started to leave.

The priest, who was watching, quickly ran ov er to him saying, 'I saw that. You didn't put any money in the poor box!' The Irishman replied, 'Yeah, but I rubbed the $50 on the box, and according to you, that's the same as putting it in!'
