well and truly chilled out...

...at least from part 1 in khaolak and phuket...minimal work calls and lotsa sun, sea, eating and beer-drinking...wah, BEST!!!party

ghastly early morning flight tho...had to wake up @ 4am and be @ the airport by 5.30am...i was completely concussedyawn...boarded the plane and fell asleep almost immediately and only woke up about 40 mins before landing at phuket...

khaolak was a good 80 minutes away from phuket...so i continued to snooze in the taxisleepy...

the baan khaolak resort was fantastic value at 53 bucks a night inclusive breakfast...bloody huge room, nicely-landscaped gardens and solid swimming pool with attached jacuzzi (albeit a tad bit small for doing laps)...pretty much chilled the whole arvo away in the pool with my book and my 6-pack of singhacool...then ambled down to the beach to watch the sun set before heading out to dinner...

the next day, for some strange reason unbeknowst to me (read IRRATIONAL), the missus and i decided to cycle to this really high-class resort that we read about, to check the place out...well, judging from the map, it wasn't thhhhaaaaatt far away, right? biiiiig mistake!d'oh took 90 minutes or more as it was blazing hot and we had to keep stopping for a rest (cos my butt hurt from the seat)...

well, it was worth it...this resort (called THE SAROJIN <- click here for their webby) won some top-class award recently from travel mag and is quite highly feted in travel circles...and my oh my, it was just fantastic...service was beyond reproach and the food was excellent (we had lunch there)...i know for sure i wanna come back and stay here some time in the future...

all in all, estimate we cycled a minimum of 30 km...ouch, my arse's still sorehypnotized

we left for phuket after breakfast on the third morning...khaolak was nice and all but soooooooo damn quiet during the low season

in phuket we stayed just at the edge of patong beach in this little boutique hotel that was, to be frank, a bit run-in and even worse, going thru some reno work at this time...shite!angryok lah, fortunately only 1 night and we were intent at this point in doing plenty of shopping, walking and eating, so managed to avoid all the ruckus caused by the workmen...PHEW!

basically just hit patong and walked every single little lane/street and oh managed to catch a pretty darned nice sunset...followed by a big-time seafood binge

all in all a well-spent 4 days...now i am looking forward to next weekend when my boyz and i paint kuala lumpur red!big grin
