what a nice drive...'cept for the morning brainfart

sunday morning....16th oct....such nice weather at 0545...cooling and perfect for a drive with the top down...

miata sg organised a drive upto port dickson to meet up with mx5my people and i eagerly joined up as the last long drive i had up north was pretty much 11 months back (the famed 4 days of cheonging all around m'sia with the linkers)...

woke up, took a nice hot shower and happily grabbed my barang barang which i packed the night before and shot off from yishun to raffles marina to RV with the gang...beautiful drive whilst cruising @ 85 kmh all the way...

got there, said hello, grabbed the white card off dissey, whipped out the passport and went NI NABE MOTHERPOOK CHOW TURTLE!!! (or something to that effect).....what stared back at me from the first page was......none other than wifey's picture!!!!!!!!!!

evidently i had packed her ppt into my bag instead of mine......trust me to be a blurtoad enuff not to check the ppt... wararaaaggghhh!!! :(

well...suffice to say that i had to blast off home and back in order to exchange the ppt....had to sneakily creep into the house to exchange and go out again...otherwise if she woke up and found out, sure kena hantum until bo chun *lol*

fortunately had the sweeper car and another one waiting on me when i got back to the RV...the rest having left around half an hour earlier...so we just rushed off thru tuas 2nd link and headed right up.....didn't go too horribly fast as we wanted to enjoy the drive too without being overly-stressed....therefore cruised at around 130...

met the rest of the convoy at yong peng layover and decided to let them go ahead whilst we took a longer breather....then whilst trying to catch up to them, we encountered the dreaded roadblock cum "donation booth".......BAH! and they say they are trying to stop graft in the public services upnorth.... *rolling eyes*...oh well, RM50 is my license to speed some more lor...wakakkaaka....

eventually made it to port dickson as the last group....hung out at the seasports and sailing club...makan, drinks, teh tarik, some beach volleyball and best yet, watching alonso take the chequered flag and renault win the constructor's in f1 this year....shiok!!!

when we left at around 4pm, weather was decidedly FU'd.....plenty of heavy drizzle and occasional heavy rain...as 2 of the other chaps were running on semislicks, decided to take things easy on the way down....no one exceeding 120...running on the left....too much risks and too high a chance for accidents especially on rwd cars...

sooooo, i made it back at 2000 at yishun...

what a nice way to spend a sunday...albeit not that cheap...give or take about 60 bucks inclusive of the donation but not including petrol.....estimated around 700 km that day including the mad rush home for the ppt...

now we are thinking of doing a cameron highlands one....that's gotta be at least overnight then...
