we bought this nifty little sony digicam as a backup to my d40 for the upcoming japan trip...as it is pretty much a trip of a lifetime, it would be an utter catastrophe if the d40 were to somehow go bonkers when we're over there...hence the "backup plan"
...otherwise we'd be up the proverbial river without any paddles...this is the SONY DSC-T2...with 8.1MP (more than my frickin' nikon), 3x zoom (6x digital), a carl-zeiss vario-tessar lens (whatever the heck that is) and a whopping 4Gb internal drive (yes 4 GIGABYTES...count them!) capable of storing 1266 images at full 8.1MP resolution...
we first saw it about 9 months back and it was truly intriguing as a point and shoot camera for daily use...the wife lurves the pink and it's just so damn chic! and it doesn't take half bad photos either...and the best thing is, since the intervening months since it was first released onto the market, the price has plummetted considerably...in fact, comparing it to the RRP at point of launch, it's a colossal 40% off...yeeehaaaa!
