over the weekend, the missus and i finally got our act together and booked out hokkaido package...at long last...
bombed down to the NATAS travel fair at singapore expo on saturday morning and jostled with the teeming hordes of humanity to check up on packages and eventually settled for one with sing xpress...a 8D7N guided tour...
some people might wonder why i didn't go with some of the more established travel agencies in singapore....the main reason is that with the exception of sing xpress, all the rest of the packages feature a mandarin-speaking guide!
look, i may be chinese but my mandarin/chinese is fairly shite...i dropped the subject like a hot potato as soon as humanly possible in school. can make do with conversational mandarin for business purposes, but when i am faced with the prospect of the guide explaining and expounding on the various sights and sounds in hokkaido in nothing but mandarin, i ran the opposite direction immediately! hell no!
anyway, the sing xpress package looks pretty good and therefore we decided there and then to book it...it was painful for my credit card, yessireeee! but we'd been looking forward to japan this year, so just had to bite the bullet...
will be there oct 23 to oct 30 inclusive, but we intend to extend for another 7 days or so in tokyo and kyoto...making a total of maybe 14 to 15 days...
it'll be autumn when we're there, so i am expecting fabulous colours in the foliage, judging from the above three photos that i found online...can't wait!
