...is awesome!!! the re-imagination by J.J. Abrams has brought new life into the franchise...it's updated and contemporary, with enough of the old to engage the long-time fans and enough of the new and glitzy to attract new viewers...
casting IS perfect...with special kudos to Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine as Spock and Kirk respectively...fabulous pacing, effects, storyline (well, a bit leaky but still), ensemble casting...everything has combined to produce the movie of the year for me so far!
