truism or fallacy?

just came across this line whilst watching a movie...it struck such a chord in me that i want to, no...NEED to share it with everyone...

"It's love...the most important thing about love is that we choose to give it and we choose to receive it, making it the least random act in the entire universe. It transcends blood, it transcends betrayal and all the dirt that makes us human..."

bears thinking about...is it really a matter of choice? being in love and choosing to love someone...are they the same thing or are they 2 sides of a coin spinning endless in infinity?
