had a surprisingly good wine last night...

...whilst out @ the guild house with a couple of friends...it was a HAMELIN BAY 2002 cabernet sauvignon...hadn't heard of this one before and we decided to try it out of sheer curiosity (for me, their family crest above, of a wyvern, clinched it)...

straight out of the bottle it was obviously full bodied but a bit tart...definitely needed about 20 minutes of airing...but after that, ooooh momma...beautiful aroma of berries tinged with a whiff of chocolate...absolutely delish!! we certainly enjoyed that one...so much that i went to check out the wine in more detail this morning...

must go look for a case liao :))
