review - Cordouroy & Finch

met up with the rest of the phuket peeps (minus lois n sam) @ C & F last night for dinner...also to exchange CDs of the pictures that we took... have been to C & F for a couple of times for coffee on sunday arvos and the impression so far was pretty good...very good cappuccinos and espressos and the cheesecake is divine...so i figgered it was about time to try dinner there...

1. the place itself - nice atmosphere, classy in a homely way
2. the food - pretty good...had a sirloin grind burger loaded with cheese and bacon...sirloin was a tad bit overcooked and not really medium like i ordered but more like medium well...nevertheless it was tasty as heck...came with fries and a side salad...wifey had a bavarian pot with 3 types of fat sausages, 1 piece of roasted pork, sauerkraut and mash potatoes...very nice indeed (no prizes for guessing who was stealing bits and pieces of sausages haha)
3. the service - this was disappointing to say the least...seemed the staff didn't know what the heck was going on...and we had to ask for iced water thrice with 3 different staff...damn blur...and wifey's pear nectar (which came in a sealed bottle) only arrived AFTER her bavarian pot was served up...sipeh jialat...

overall, barely 7 out of 10 and mostly for the food and setting...would have gotten an 8 but for the blurtoad service...i'd go back but probably not soon...for the money that we paid, i'd have enjoyed decidedly better service and similar quality of makan at the guildhouse...actually would be cheaper at the guild house some more...
